VietNamNet Bridge – More than 300 actresses, actors, movie directors from different countries attended Vietnamese Movie Night held at the Busan international Film Festival in Korea yesterday.

Vietnamese actresses Ngoc Hiep, Truong Ngoc Anh, Do Thi Hai Yen, Vietnamese directors Nguyen Quang Hai, Luu Huynh, Othello Khanh, the movie producer Phuoc Sang and a Vietnamese journalist Lai Van Sam talked to people who work in the movie industry during an exchange programme yesterday.

Vietnam sent two movies – Chuyen cua Pao (Pao’s story) and Ao lua Ha Dong (Ha Dong silk dress) – to the festival. As the two Vietnamese films have caught the attention of audiences at the event, many international companies have asked to buy these two films to distribute in their countries such as Taiwan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei.

In answering the press about what he thought about the two Vietnamese films, Kim Dong Ho, the chairman of the film festival, said, “We found that they are of really high quality and we hope that in the future Vietnam will submit more of its films to the Busan Film Festival.”

In related news, the project to produce the movie Ngay mua dau tien (The first rainy day) to be directed by Nguyen Phan Quang Binh got funding from the Busan Promotion Plan organisation.

After this festival Chuyen cua Pao will be sent to compete at the Shanghai Film Festival, Golden Chicken in China and will be screened in 10 universities in America as part of the programme for the film to compete for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Film.
