Superman Lennon

September 18, 2006

Rock great John Lennon is reportedly portrayed as a hero of ‘Superman’ proportions in a new movie, according to widow Yoko Ono.

‘The Us Vs John Lennon’ documents his fierce peace campaign against the Vietnam War by using newsreels and private home videos of the musician.

But while the film goes to great lengths to detail his fight against the US government, Ono admits her tragic husband doesn’t come across as too much of a saint.

Ono insists, “Thus story, which is the true story and a very important story, has not been discussed so much as the tabloid thing. I don’t think he’s coming out as a saint.

“The struggle that he went through confronting these big powers, it’s almost like a very interesting Superman kind of thing.”
