Resort Island hosts Miss Vietnam 2006 Saturday
August 30, 2006
The most beautiful woman in Vietnam will be chosen from 34 beauties at the Miss Vietnam beauty contest 2006 August 26 on the resort island of Hon Tre, broadcast live on Vietnam Television.
In a break from tradition, ten contestants will make it through to the finals after the initial awards are announced, following the protocols of the Miss Universe pageant.
The ten will move on to the ao dai (Vietnamese traditional tunic dress), swim suit and evening dress competitions to choose the final five, who will advance to the question and answer session.
Miss 1998 Ngoc Khanh and the VTV3 channel’s hot boy Anh Tuan will warm up the stage as the contest’s MCs.
Spectators will get a chance to see 10 years of Miss Vietnams, as they reunite to sing “Loi Trai Tim Muon Noi” (Words from my heart) in performance at event.
Famous artists My Tam, Quang Dung, Kasim Hoang Vu, Thu Minh, AC&M, and Red Sun are set to perform at Miss Vietnam 2006.
The contest takes place on a brand new water-music stage at the VinPearl resort’s Hon Ngoc Viet (Cultural Park) – the first-ever international 5-star resort in Van Phong Bay, just off the coast of Nha Trang resort city in Khanh Hoa province.
The modern stage and seating area holds 5,000 people, and was opened to the public Thursday morning.
Ticket prices are VND500,000 (US$31.2) and VND200,000 (US$12.5), but if you haven’t got your tickets yet it’s too late, as the event has been sold out.
