Miss Vietnam 2006 and her first charity activity

VietNamNet Bridge – After being crowned Miss Vietnam 2006, Mai Phuong Thuy performed her first charity activity on August 27.

 

A group including Duong Ky Anh, head of the pageant organising board, Miss Vietnam 2006 Mai Phuong Thuy, first runner-up Lu Bao Anh, Miss Photo Cao Thanh Hang and Miss Sport Dam Thi Ly visited the family of Agent Orange victims and Orphanage No 29 in Phuoc Long, Nha Trang.

 

The visited family includes the mother, Nguyen Thi Tham and three children, two of them are Agent Orange victims. Ms Tham has to take care of them while earning a living for the whole family of four. Tham was given some presents by the group and said she felt touched to be visited by the new Miss Vietnam and the other contestants.

 

After visiting Tham’s family, Miss Vietnam 2006 headed for Orphanage No.29 in Phuoc Long, Nha Trang. The pageant organisers gave the orphanage VND3mil for the disadvantaged children living there. Thuy and the other beauties also gave them presents.

 

While talking to the press, Thuy promised that she would participate in various charity activities to support disadvantaged people in the future.

 

Thuy will represent Vietnam at the Miss World Pageant 2006 scheduled for Poland in September.
