Me Thao – Thoi Vang Bong (Glorious Time in Me Thao Hamlet) directed by Viet Linh and Ai Xuoi Van Ly (The Long Journey) by Le Hoang will have their Japanese premieres in Tokyo and Osaka from September 25 to 29.
The occasion will be the Vietnamese Movies Meeting, which is being organised by the Japanese Film Association.
Le Hoang has been invited to attend, as has another director, Pham Hoang Nam, to talk about the cultural similarities between Vietnam and Japan and the romanticism of Vietnamese films.
Every year the Japanese Film Association selects films from one country for screening and discussion, and this year the land of choice is Viet Nam. It’s rather appropriate given that Vietnamese movies are gradually winning the hearts of Asian audiences.
