Vietnamese films win awards at Tokyo Fest

HA NOI — Two Vietnamese films were recognised at the 28th Tokyo International Video Film Festival.

Vuot Doc (Overcome The Slope) by director To Cam and Huong Hoa Giua Doi (Perfume and Flower in Life) by Viet Oanh, each received an “outstanding film” award.

Both films were made by HCM City Television.

The examining committee awarded “outstanding film” awards to 30 films among 2,290 movies from 35 countries and territories in the world.

The awards ceremony will be held in Japan on Saturday.

The festival was organised and sponsored by the JVC Corporation and has become an important launching pad for international video makers.
